Repair Steps
Force Restart: Quickly press and release the Volume Up button. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button. Press and hold the Side (Power) button until the Apple logo appears. Software Update: If the phone is usable, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap Download and Install. Recovery Restore: If the lines persist, connect the iPhone to a computer. Use Finder (Mac) or iTunes (Windows) to "Update" or "Restore" the device software. Tools used in these steps: No physical tools required; requires a stable Wi-Fi connection or a computer with a Lightning-to-USB cable.

Repair Steps
Power Down & Prep: Turn off the iPhone. Use a Pentalobe P2 screwdriver to remove the two 6.8mm screws at the bottom near the charging port. Heat the Seal: Apply heat (approx. 80°C) to the edges of the screen for 2–3 minutes using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the waterproof adhesive. Open the Device: Apply a suction cup to the bottom edge. Pull up gently to create a gap, then insert an opening pick. Slide the pick around the edges, being careful not to insert it more than 3mm on the left side (where the cables are). Disconnect Internal Brackets: Open the screen to the right like a book. Use a Tri-point Y000 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the display cable bracket and the battery connector bracket. Safety First: Use a plastic spudger to disconnect the battery cable first. Then, disconnect the display and front sensor cables. Transfer Sensors: If your replacement screen is not a "full assembly," you must unscrew the front sensor/microphone assembly from the old screen and move it to the new one to keep Face ID working. Seal and Close: Remove old adhesive from the frame. Apply a new waterproof adhesive seal. Reconnect cables, reattach brackets, and press the screen into the frame. Reinstall the bottom Pentalobe screws.
